Senior Monitoring & Evaluation Officer with the HIV/AIDS Programme under the Laboratory Sciences Division (Internal Advertisement #243/11) icddr,b invites applications from suitable candidates (staff members and CSA holders) for the position of Senior Monitoring & Evaluation Officer with the HIV/AIDS Programme under the Laboratory Sciences Division. The appointment will be made on a fixed-term basis for 1 year, but may be extended for further period depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

Duty Station - Anywhere in the country.

Salary – Annual Tk. 438,820/- inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances with other admissible benefits.

Benefits/facilities - 14.8% retirement fund contribution by the Centre, Children allowance @Tk.1,420/- per child per month, medical facilities for dependent spouse and children, free group life insurance and subsidized transport, canteen, daycare facilities.

Job Profile
  • Supervise day to day activities related to data collection, data checking, reporting both at the field level i.e. at the Drop In Centres (DICs) of NGOs/CBOs and at the programme management level;
  • Ensure all Participatory M&E activities are conducted as planned in the field;
  • Assist supervisor in analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data, preparing and compiling field reports;
  • Organize and facilitate training for the DIC staff on different (both qualitative and quantitative) aspects of Participatory M&E;
  • Provide feedback to all relevant stakeholders based on information generated from the Participatory M&E data;
  • Ensure effective coordination between M&E and programme team;
  • Closely work with the MSM and transgender population across the country.
Requirements
  • Masters in any discipline;
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in health related research or programme activities;
  • Preference will be given and experience may be relaxed for candidates having at least 1 year working experiences with MSM and transgender population;
  • Should have very good understanding of participatory M&E, good knowledge regarding qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and data analysis procedures;
  • Must be able to identify and overcome problems in the different steps of data collection and data entry at the field level;
  • Must be able to work closely with the implementing NGOs and CBOs with frequent field visits;
  • Computer proficiency is a must;
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English is essential.
