Medical Technologist (Laboratory) with the Tuberculosis Laboratory under the Laboratory Sciences Division in Dhaka (Internal Advertisement #238/11)
icddr,b invites applications from suitable candidates (staff members and CSA holders) for the position of Medical Technologist (Laboratory) with the Tuberculosis Laboratory under the Laboratory Sciences Division in Dhaka. The appointment will be made on a Contractual Service Agreement (CSA) basis for 5 months, which may be renewable depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
Duty Station – Dhaka
Salary – Tk.22,002/-(consolidated) per month inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances. No other benefit is admissible.
Job Profile
- Processing different biological specimens, AFB microscopy, culture on solid and liquid media, drug susceptibility testing;
- Preparation of staining solutions, buffers and other reagents;
- Preservation and arrangement of the biological specimens like sputum, mycobacterial strains, serum, DNA etc;
- Record keeping and data entry of the experimental results;
- Maintain stock and non- stock items required for the project.
Requirements
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology with good academic records;
- 3 years experience in the relevant field of which minimum 1 year on microbiological techniques;
- Ability to solve the experimental problems in the working areas;
- Proper knowledge of precautions in handling infectious biological samples such as; sputum and bacterial culture;
- Skills in storing and arranging biological samples, bacterial strains etc;
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
